A place to find out about the construction plans for a tunnel under the east wing of Fraggle Rock. Or it could be about us. You decide. Now with baking!!!

This and that
This past week or so has been pretty eventful. For starters, Cait and I were both sick (Cait still isn't feeling to well) and now we've gotten Savannah sick. I found that I answered 97 questions out of 150 correct on the Service Wide Exam (which is pretty good). Add in my awards and time in, I think that I stand a pretty good chance of being in the top 10 on the advancemt list. That means that I could make OS1 as early as Feburary. At the house, we're getting ready for Thanksgiving and having family come up and visit. We've purchased some walkway lights, some stuff to help keep the yard in order and to bring the house up to where we want it. I'm actually pretty excited about doing the housework. Not much else to pass this week.

Time for an update!
I uderstand that it's been a little bit since i've updated this, so let me fill you in on the past few weeks. We took Savannah to a few different (and safe) sites for Halloween. She had a lot of fun picking out candy! From there we started to shift toward getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We've started to look at some landscaping, but I think that might be a little bit down the road. For the most part, we've settled into a routine around the house. Last week, I took the E-6 Service Wide Exam for advancement. We should find out some time in December how I did. Shortly after that, the Coast Guard will release a list of all who took the Service Wide and where the stand in line for advancement. Its possible that I could make E-6 as soon as January or Feburary. Well, that's it for this update.

Updates
I've done a bit of updating to this blog (nothing to major). I've changed the title and cleaned up some posts. I'm going to be featuring this blog on my own website soon (hopefully). This will now be a more family friendly blog. At the very least, i'll be looking to update this at least once a week (hopefully, i'll be able to update a few time a week). We'll see how this goes. Maybe I can even get Cait to work on her blog...

Crazyness!
Last night we took a report of an overdue vessel that went 50 miles off of Clearwater to fish and hadn't made it back yet. When I left this morning, we knew that 2 of the people onboard are NFL player. Needless to say, 2 missing NFL plasyer 50miles offshore tends to generate a little bit of media interest. Follow this link. See what I'vestarted?

Postin' crazyness
Apparently, I'm on a bit of a posting craze. Speaking of putting stuff on the internet, check out my online photo album. It can be found here. It's got pictures of road trips, family, events and some other stuff.

A big day!!!
Wow. The past day or two have been kinda crazy. First, we recieved our tax return and I got paid on the same day. The bank account went from no money to "where did all of this money come from?" That was a great day...minus the whole having to go to work thing... Then that night, I got to close Tampa Bay to all boats. That includes the big tankers and cargo ships all the way down to some one's private fishing boat. That's twice now that I have shut the Bay down. Of course, those who out rank me made the final decision, but I was the one to tell people to stop all traffic. After coming home and taking a brief nap, Cait and I (and Savannah, of course) went to the Fair and brought home Bear. Bear is our new Sugar Glider (or Sugar Bear). I'll keep this updated a bit more often from now on and hopefully one day I will be posting daily updates. That's it for now.
P.S. If you want to see articles about closing Tampa Bay on 12FEB09, click here.
